Our firm’s partners have acted as lead local counsel for many of the most notable transport, road and infrastructure projects in Cyprus, including, but not limited to, advising the consortium of international and Cypriot entrepreneurs who have been awarded a long-term concession from the Republic of Cyprus for the design, construction and development of the Larnaca and Paphos airport, advising the Cyprus Health Insurance Organisation in relation to the information technology infrastructure relating to the implementation of the national health service system in Cyprus, acting for the preferred bidder for the first highway project under BOT terms involving a long-term concession with the government, representing a local sewerage board in legal actions in Cyprus and arbitration before the ICC, and many others.

In addition, Ioannides Demetriou LLC has an unrivalled track record of involvement in all segments of the Cyprus energy industry. Apart from advising the Electricity Authority of Cyprus, the incumbent electricity provider of the country, on all aspects of its operations, including the installation of desalination plants, reconstruction of power stations and the construction of LNG regasification terminal, we have been advising on the successful structuring, financing, and delivery of many renewable energy projects, including the first and largest wind farm on the island.

Ioannides Demetriou LLC is has also been retained to advise the government for relevant power and infrastructure matters, including the first and second licensing and bidding rounds for hydrocarbon deposits off Cyprus as well as the privatisation of the commercial activities of the Limassol port, being the largest port of the country, by way of long-term concession agreements.
